This list covers essential release steps.
Preparation
- Determine the release window.
- Determine who will be working on this release.
- If the release window overlaps 6 PM, order food beforehand for all involved. Have the food delivered to the office at 6 PM.
- Set an alarm for the end of the planned release window.
Releasing
- At the end of the planned release window (alarm fires), consider whether to update customers on the delay.
- At the end of the planned release window and at least every 30 minutes after that, consider whether working on fixing the release is still effective or whether it should be aborted or rolled back.
